Special Events at the Explorium
Gallery Hop - Lexington Philharmonic at the Explorium
Introduce your child to the instruments of the orchestra in a fun way! Lexington Philharmonic will bring their Instrument Petting Zoo to the Explorium on June 19, during the Gallery Hop from 5-8 p.m.
Children can hold, play, and touch the instruments. The petting zoo will be located on the 1st floor of the Explorium. Members of the Philharmonic will demonstrate how each instrument is played, explain sound production and host a question and answer period.
Gallery Hop is open to the public and admission to the Explorium is free during Gallery Hop hours.
The Kentucky Arts Council, a state agency in the Commerce Cabinet, provides operational support funding for Explorium of Lexington with state tax dollars and federal funding from the National Endowment for the Arts, which believes that a great nation deserves great art.
