• Preschoolers and their parents now have even more options for fun, interactive learning at the Explorium.  In addition to the Wonder Woods area, an exhibit area designed exclusively for preschool age children, the Explorium now offers Preschool Day Camps and Destination Discovery classes.

Parents and Tots

The Explorium introduces drop-in classes for parents and their 3-4 year olds. The drop-ins will promote parent-child bonding, address motor skills development, provide a play environment, and stimulate curiosity. Each day will offer a different theme and activities.

The drop-ins will be held every Tuesday and Thursday from 10:30-11:30 AM. in various locations throughout the Explorium. Drop-in programming is included in the regular admission price to the museum.

The first drop-in will be held Thursday April 8.

Preschool Day Camps

The Explorium introduces its Preschool Day Camps from 9 a.m.- noon. Preschool Day Camps are designed for 3-5 year olds.

The Big Blue Sea, May 5

Fish, dolphins, and seaweed! Discover what lives under the big blue sea.  

These are drop off camps, so children should be potty trained and be able to use the restroom by themselves. A small snack and drink will be provided. (Children with food allergies should provide their own snack and drink.)

The fee is $15 per child, with $10 due at registration. Registration forms can be picked up at the front desk or by emailing Kristi Barrowman, Education Coordinator, at barrowman@explorium.com.

Little Scientists Science Fair

April 13 - May 14, 2010

Tuesdays: 10 - 11 a.m. 

Fridays: 2 -3 p.m.

Members- $40  Non-Members- $50

Too young to compete in a Science Fair? Well not at the Explorium.  In this class we will learn and construct our own science projects.  At the end of the class the projects will be displayed at the Explorium for all to see.  

Dinosaurs Rock

April 13 - May 14, 2010
Tuesdays: 2 -3 p.m.

Fridays: 10 -11 a.m.

Dinosaurs, dinosaurs and dinosaurs! And Fossils! Travel back 65 million years ago when dinosaurs ruled the earth.  In this class we will learn about natures "giant lizards," exploring a different dinosaur each week. We will become paleontologists and possibly discover our own Explorium dinosaur.  We will even make our own fossils!  

Group Visits are also available for groups of all ages, including preschool groups.
