Volunteers make the world go round! At least at the Explorium they do. Here are a few of the volunteer opportunities that are always available at the Museum. Clean Sweep Mondays
Mondays 10:00am – 4:30pm
Clean Sweep Mondays are essential to providing a safe and clean environment for the children of the Explorium. We will clean, repair, organize and construct various exhibits for daily operations and upcoming events.
Tuesday-Friday, one day per week 10:00am-1:00pm
Assist school groups and direct children’s activities in the galleries. Show visitors hands-on demonstrations and supervise interaction with exhibits
Saturdays & Sundays
Help make a child’s birthday extra-special! Assist with party activities, help prepare the birthday room, greet guests, celebrate and have fun!
Various dates & times (generally evenings/weekends)
Join our core volunteers who help throughout the year with special events like Museum Go Round, Bugz All Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and Dental Health Week. Volunteers are needed to help with craft activities and greet members and guests.

The Sketch Pad is a studio space designed for children to explore various art materials while expressing themselves through visual arts. Volunteers will be assisting with Programming Coordinator, helping re-stock supplies, clean, and assist children in project creation if needed.
Sketch Pad Discovery
Saturday & Sunday 1:00pm – 5:00pm
The Sketch Pad is a studio space designed for children to explore various art materials while expressing themselves through the visual arts. Themes and projects will vary each weekend. Volunteers will be assisting with Programming Coordinator, helping re-stock supplies, clean, and assist children in project creation if needed.
Saturdays 13:30pm – 2:00pm
The Imagination Station is a specific drop-in demonstration hour where children are encouraged to explore the world around them. From Science to cult, children are engaged in asking questions, and testing theories. Volunteers will be assisting in prepping, cleaning, and engaging children in exploring the daily project. This may include asking presenter instructions to help children explore options, and assist in demonstrations if needed.
Tuesdays 10:30am – 11:15am
Baby Explorers is for children 9 months to 2 years of age. This program is designed to help little ones develop basic knowledge and experience to assist them in the growth in the presence of their caregivers. We focus on colors, shapes, letters, manners, and other simple, but important elements in development! Volunteers will assist in engaging infants in stories and activities, to assist programmer in prepping supplies, organizing supplies, or distributing supplies to participants
Mini da Vincis
Thursdays 10:30am – 11:30am
Mini da Vincis is an art experience specific to ages 2 to 4 years. This program is designed to help little ones to recognize the role of art in the world, while allowing them to express themselves in the arts. Volunteers will assist in engaging children, help prep supplies, distribute supplies, clean, and organize.
